Cleaning your breast pump by hand. Use a wash basin & soapy water. Place pump parts in a clean washing bowl or basin that's used only for washing infant feeding equipment. Do not place pump parts directly in the sink because germs in sinks or drains could contaminate the pump. Fill wash basin with hot water and add soap.

You may boil many different kinds of bottles, including glass, plastic, and silicone bottles, as long as the instructions provided by the manufacturer state that it is safe to do so. Either bring the bottles to a boil in a saucepan of water or partially fill the bottles with water and heat them in the microwave until the water comes to a boil. Step 1: Open the bottle and remove the silicone nipple. Step 2: Always start by rinsing your bottles and nipples in cold water before putting them in the dishwasher. Step 3: Add mild detergent. Step 4: Load the dishwasher with a MAM bottle facing down. Step 5: Close the door and run a normal cycle.

I bake longer than Palmer calls for so that the bottles can come up to temperature. Then I turn off the oven and go to bed. In the morning I pull out the cooled sterilized bottles.

Step 3: Place the bottles, nipples, and caps in a microwave-safe container. Step 4: Put the container in the microwave, making sure it is stable and secure. Step 5: Set the microwave to high power and heat the bottles for the recommended time.
